From Cairo to the Cloud

Michelle Payma began filming of a documentary about the Cairo Geniza, "Cairo to the Cloud" five years ago. She has filmed over forty interviews with Geniza scholars, computer scientists, archivists, librarians, conservators, scribes, rabbis and writers in Canada, the US, UK, France, and Israel. The film is currently being edited.

Please check out the new trailer here:

Cairo to the Cloud has been largely self-financed, supplemented by several private donations, and aided in no small part by the priceless support of friends and family who helped in innumerable ways. The project has kicked off our campaign to raise the funds necessary to complete the film.

Donations are made through our fiscal sponsor, the International Documentary Association, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization. Your donation is tax-deductible in the United States to the extent permitted by law.
